Welcome to our Web Portal for Northern New Mexico Rural/Frontier Women’s Health Coordinating Center!
The Northern New Mexico Rural/Frontier Women’s Health Coordinating Center (RFCC) is one of 11 National RFCC's supported by the federal Office of Women’s Health (OWH). The RFCCs are among five programs that make up the OWH’s Multidisciplinary Models for Women’s Health. The goal of the national RFCC network is to extend the best scientific knowledge and practices in women’s health to the farthest reaches of the health care delivery system. In Northern New Mexico, our mission is to reduce the health problems that women living in our communities face due to lack of information, support, and access to quality women’s health-related services and providers. We work towards that mission through building projects, collaborations and networks across our service region in these five areas:

  *
Health care delivery & standards of care
  * Public education and outreach
  * Health professional education, training, recruitment & retention
  * Community-based research
  * Leadership development in women’s health

Who are we?
The No. New Mexico RFCC is a collaboration between the Rio Arriba Family Care Network (RAFCN) and El Centro Family Health (formally Health Centers of No. New Mexico). Established in 1994, RAFCN is coalition of 58 health and human service providers, public jurisdictions, businesses, and community associations in Rio Arriba County, and is the health advisory council to the Rio Arriba County. HCNNM is a nonprofit system of 17 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). The 15 medical and 2 dental facilities serve rural and frontier communities across a seven county, 22,000 square mile region of north central and northeastern New Mexico. The work of the RFCC is staffed by a team of health professionals across both organizations in four locations and guided by a diverse and representative Community Advisory Council (link to page with staff & advisory council listing).
